The?Australia Pavilion will be sold by a competitive tender, the pavilion announced on its official website. Interested buyers were invited to submit bids. The bidding deadline is 3pm on September 20. The final result will be announced on September 30.

With a total project value of US$77.57 million, the pavilion's sale will include its associated business promotion, communications and cultural programs.

The pavilion said it will look favorably on proposals that present re-uses that are "innovative and provide for high profile and high-quality legacy opportunities for the Pavilion and its assets."

The 4,800-square-meter pavilion is themed "ImagiNation." It features a 1,000-seat theater screening a multimedia show about the country.

The pavilion is one of the most popular at the Expo, receiving more than 5 million visitors thus far.
