Vietnamese President Tran Duc Luong arrived in Beijing on the morning of December 25 for a five-day official goodwill visit at the invitation of Chinese President Jiang Zemin.
Jiang is to hold talks with Luong later.
This is Luong's first China tour after he assumed the presidency.
Besides Beijing, he will also tour Shanghai and Xiamen.
