Nora Sun, granddaughter of Sun Yat-sen, the forerunner of China's revolution to end feudalism, was severely injured in a car accident on her way to an airport near Taipei Saturday morning.

Sun's black car had a head-on collision with a red car on the way to the Taoyuan International Airport after she concluded her visit to the International Flora Expo in Taipei.

Sun, 72, had planned to go back to Hong Kong by air Saturday morning.

She and the other injured were sent to a local hospital immediately. Doctors said Sun was "not in good condition" and was still in danger.

Sun is the youngest daughter of Sun Fo, son of Sun Yat-sen, who was the leader of the 1911 Revolution that ended the imperial rule in China, and one of a few modern Chinese political figures revered on both the Chinese mainland and in Taiwan.
